Flagstone/stone on top of concrete?

We have a concrete patio 25 years old. It has two surface cracks and one deeper one that we repaired by sanding down and filling. The soil below is adobe. We'd like to cover the concrete with stone, but are aware that we don't know if the original concrete is reinforced in any way. We have heard of "Latex modified thinset" as a base then trowel it - then put on the stones on top. We are concerned about movement (northern California & the cracks already in the patio) - so, should we just sledge hammer out the concrete and start over(ugh) or can we move forward? We will likely hire someone to do the work, but we'd like a heads up on how to talk about it so we don't get the wrong information. Any help will be delightful. I have a question about l infections yeast and BV?

Heres the history. I went to to urgent care at 15 weeks due to a horrible l irritation. I ume it was a yeast infection due to the white discharge, fishy smell, burning and itching. So the on call practionioner did not want to do a l exam because she said I was too early in pregnancy. She had me swipe the inside of my and she looked at the discharge under a microscope. She said that she did not find yeast, trich, or BV. He said it was just an irritation and told me to use vagisil and dove scentless soap. My irritation continued to torture me. Two weeks later I had my doctors appointment and my doc did a l exam and she put the swab under a microscope and she said that I did have a mid case of BV and she prescribe me metronidozole(something like that), which is an antibotic. It was a 7 day treatment and I got relief on the 3rd day but the symptoms came back and worst. So now I am depress because I am so miserable. So yesterday at my 21 weeks check up I told my doc I am still itching burning and all, so they check my urine and found 2+ leukyocytes(something like that) so she said it was a UTI but when she did my l exam she said just by the look of it, she new it was a raging yeast infection but she was too lazy to put it under the microscope. I ask about the uti they found and she said it was just due to the discharge from the yeast infection. She prescribe we 2 med. Diflucan and some yeast infection creme. The diflucan is a 2day treatment and I began the creme after I finish the diflucan if my symptoms persist. Ok so heres the question Did the antibiotics cause the yeast infection? I took my first diflucan pill yesterday and a couple hours later I notice a bunch of vaginal mucus dicharge yellowish with chunks in it, coming out of my vagina. I been having this discharge all of along but it never pour out like this. Does this mean the pill is working and thats just chunks of bacteria coming from my vagina or do i still have bv. I know some people say the bacteria just dissolves and you cant see it come out. I am not experiencing any itching or burning as of yesterday. Please share your yeast infection stories.

Cooking Pork Spare-Ribs?

I bought a 3 lb pkg of spare-ribs yesterday and would like to make them for dinner tonight. ( That's 8 hours until he gets home from work) He of course laughed and said you can't make BBQ ribs, we don't own a smoker.... lol Anyway... Even though I can't make authentic BBQ ribs out of them, I still want to know how to cook them to where they will come out really tender. If I should par boil them and then finish in the oven or crock pot? If I should just use the crock pot? Or if I should use oven & crock pot.... I'm a sopre in highschool, and there is a girl i have a crush on xD. She's really beautiful and has a really pretty smile :P. Up until about a few days ago, i haven't talked to this girl. NEVER. I bought these Puma Basket sneakers in 2003 at a shoe store, and I worn them without socks since the day I bought them. My friend's daughter is 12. Since she was a toddler, she's always been deathly afraid of people in costumes. The fear increases as the costume gets more elaborate. (we're talking sports/ business mascots, Disney characters, and such...nothing scary) She can sort of tolerate it if she can see the persons face, but put on a mask or a head-piece, she goes ballistic. She's ok when the costume is empty. They've tried to have someone they know put on a costume in front of her many times, but as soon as the face is covered, the girl experiences sheer horror, as if the person in the costume no longer exists. While I feel sorry for the girl, I am fascinated by her reaction and would like to know more about it. I also understand that it is not uncommon for children to be frightened, but it is rare for a 12 y/o girl to still foster this fear. Any ideas?

I would suggest to give him milk mixed with cereal right before bed and see if that helps. feed like normal during the day and pump a little when your son is finished. He probably uses you for comfort. I'm sure you guessed that already. I understand that you should feed him every time he's hunger but try and fill him up with something. If I were you I would explain to your boys (in the nicest way possible) that Grandma is wrong about the subject because she just never learned any better. I would definitely not let her be with the children when you are not around ever again. Not letting them wash themselves and telling them they they are "dirty, gross and ugly" is abusive no matter what beliefs she uses to justify it. If I were you I would just tell your mother-in-law that you don't feel it is healthy for the kids to stay with her if she is going to be putting ideas like that in their heads. It sounds harsh, but you need to protect your children and that comes before your mother-in-law's feelings.

I think both are good, especially Kickboxing, because they focus of the aspects of fighting which incorporates self defence, with the full Art, you have to learn forms and the like. Boxing is also good but you are training the body to knowck someone senseless, which is not really self defence as it is more than the reasonable force allowed.

Alright. I am a Honor Roll Middle School student. Many months ago someone from a "technical high school" came in to talk to us about this public school option. It is run by the county, and the school district pays the students tuition. They made it sound like the greatest thing, you can take a course in many areas such as graphic design, computer information systems, police academy, carpentry, auto tech just to name a few, and get your high school diploma. You have an option to go full day and take all your many academics at "tech", or you can spend half the day there, and take 2 academics, and then spend half the day at the traditional high school and take the rest (What I would like to do). They even give you a 13'' Macbook to enhance your learning! Everyone wanted to go, but a whole bunch of people told them that kids that go to tech don't go to college. I quickly looked up that statistic, and found out 75% of graduating students do go on to college. I also found out that at this school half the kids who go full day meet the state proficiency levels for math, and only a quarter for science. I come from a school with close to 98% in math, and just below that in science. I then approached some teachers, yet they still said nothing but good things about tech. One of my most skilled teachers was even formally employed by them! He only stopped working there because they required for him to have a masters degree! He also said that the reputation was extremely inaccurate, and provided many reasons to back that up. I still continue hearing bad stuff about the students that go there, so I decide to pay a visit there myself. The teachers and staff are very friendly. The facilities are of the 80's era, but the equipment is up-to-date and the school is clean. The director was also very nice, and basically told me that their students are very diverse, and if I put a lot into it, I will get a lot out of that school. If I don't like some students, I simply won't. After investigation, I learned that over half the students have learning disabilities, most of them have lots of piercings and not that it matters but their style is goth. I also talked to one of my older peers, and one of the few that is supporting, and he knows some of the kids going to tech. He says he doesn't know one kid who goes to that school who is academically motivated, but he does not know any half day students, and yet he thinks If I actually listen I will have an advantage and I should go. Yet I continue to hear bad things from my peers, but not the adults. I really want to go, but I don't want any bad decision that I make when I'm 13 to effect me when I'm 33. What should I do?

How can i improve my 0-60 and quarter mile times?

I've got a 97 Pontiac Trans Am WS6. its an auto (yes i know boo hoo). 285 bhp from the LT1 and with the WS6 package with the intake and exhaust is suppose to give it an extra 20 horse to give it a total of 305 bhp from the factory. Its completely stock except the rear end has been changed to 4.10 instead of the 3.43. Its also got a b&m shift kit in it aswell. The car stock is apparently able to pull off a 0-60 time in 5-6 seconds. I tried doing a run and my friends timed it to be 7 seconds. (who knows how accurate that is) i had another friend say 4 or 5 on a diff ocion. Will warming my BFGs up before i take off help out a lot? It seems as though my biggest problem is at the start. Im getting traction. the tires aren't spinning but when i pin it, the first few seconds it seems as though the car is slow to respond. Do i need drag radials? What can i do to get this time down?

What might be causing my crotch pains?

For about the past 3 months i have been having unusual pains in my crotch (taint to be more specific). Right between my rectum and i feel like a sharp pain. particularly when is sit down or when i am laying or sitting and sit up. i can simulate the pain by putting pressure on the general area. I do have kidney stones which have not ped. I'm sure that's why i have difficulty urinating. I want to make sure that i am not confusing kidney stone symptoms with something else like cancer or that my kidney stones haven't caused internal damage. I have had kidney stones for years but no symptom like this. I would see a doctor but have no health insurance and am already in debt to different medical facilities. How do I bow out of this work situation gracefully?

I work for a small informal company. The office space I work in I share with my immediate supervisor and one other coworker. The coworker is my issue here. She will call her husband on the company phone line intentionally picking a fight with him for starters. What she does at home is none of my business and I don't care. But I have to sit in the same room with her listening to her yelling and cussing and slamming the phone when she's done. Not only that but if she happens to leave the room and come back in on the tail end of a conversation she automatically umes that you're talking about her and becomes irate and confrontational. (Ironically enough, up to this point the conversation is never been about her. Except for the one time we were discussing what we each were buying her for her birthday.) And as of yesterday, i found out that she's spreading rumors. I am trying to make a electric fence from scrap so my dogs will stop getting out. I used the galvanized steel about 30 feet of it. I used the wire that is used to build a metal fence. Is that good? I also used one of the bars of galvanized steel that are about 4 feet tall and 1/2 a inch wide and 1/8 an inch thick that is used to tighten the fencing. I used that to stick into the ground to ground the electric fence. Is that good? I am using a lawn mower battery that is 300 cranking amps and 350 cold cranking amps for the charge. Is that good? i have it hooked together with jumper cables. Is that good? I am using 3 foot pieces of wood to make the fence and to hold the wire with a nails to hold it in place. Is that good? Will my Pugs Die from chocolate?

How many times a week do you ride your horse?

Don't have a horse since we retired but for the 20 years that we did I would ride 5 or 6 days a week. Always gave my horse a day off just to be lazy. During the summer when we 'd go to shows they'd get 2 or 3 days off after the show.....sort depending on the weather.....really hot days they'd get the 3 days off. I did a lot of trail riding.

I've been to all of them, really like eastern Europe. You do need the ship upgrades, otherwise team members can die on the approach to the Collector base. The ignments during the mission are mostly self explanatory, except I would recommend you send Mordin (the salarian doctor) to escort the crew members back to the ship because he dies very easily during the fight at the end, while you're fighting the boss. To go through the ventilation thingy you need a tech expert if you want them to survive. There are at least two of these, you should know them. You have two who are really good at biotics to do the shield thingy, just pick one. And to lead the two squads you need someone with leadership experience in his or her past ideally, and you can use the same person for both if you want. If you've been paying attention to things then you know who you can pick for these jobs. ;) It doesn't matter who you take on the other missions pre-endgame, just make sure everyone has loyalty, you have all ship upgrades, and you defeat the end boss as fast as you can. The nuke launcher is great to shave a lot off his health at once. Also, if you want the very -best- ending, you can only do Legion's loyalty mission after you go to the derelict Reaper, and nothing else. That way, all kidnapped crew members will survive too.

okay my son is 11 months old hell be one the day after easter! anyways ever since he was born hes been really sick and i had a perfect pregnancy i did everything i was supposed to only gained 24 pounds ate right took vitamins so im sure you can understand my frustruation. hes had 4 ear infections and his left ear drum ruptured bronchitis several times in october they thought he had the flu so they put him on tamiflu (the test came back neg but they said they have a lot of false negs) then in january he was hospitalized with RSV, bronchoulitis, influneza a, an ear infection and the swine flu test came back positive they had to send that one off to little rock ar. when we were getting discharged one of the doctors said they think he has a cows milk protein allergy so they switched him to soy milk.this i just a short list of illnesses hes battled since birth :( it breaks my heart to see him so sick all the time. but he hasnt been as sick since they switched his formula he also has asthma really bad (i have it too) and he has a nebulizer and 3 inhalers he uses daily. so far we know hes allergic to the milk, anything containing apples even apple pedialyte they gave that to him at the hospital, yes i told them he was allergic to it but they wanted to try it, and he broke out in yellow pus pockets all over him. sweet potatoes, squash, and carrots make him wheeze, so does motrin. oh and not to mention he was born with a penile torsion (twisted !!) and had to have surgery at oklahoma childrens hospital when he was 6 month old how random is that. my major question is i gave him white g juice and hes got like hives in his private area and hes had diarrhea all day! is that normal for babies to break out from that? he hasnt had any new foods and hes done this before with the white g juice. also if anyone has any advice on how to go from an infant diet to a toddler one that would be GREATLY appreciated. and were in illinois and his doctor is in arkansas so i cant call and make an appointment with her yet to ask about the juice thing thanks so much for your help!!

Potty training my 2 1/2 year old boy?

My son is 2 1/2 and he has showed interest in going on the potty. For the last couple of weeks I have been trying to take steps in the potty training. It's very frustrating bec. he likes to talk about it but not actually sit on it. I have a separate little potty and the one that sits on the toilet. I have tried the candy method, the reward method with a big toy, made a potty chart with stickers. I get criticism from my mother n law and I feel like people judge me when they see that he isn't potty trained. Is it possible that he isn't ready or should I just keep at it and force him to try to sit on the potty at least once a day??

About 6 weeks ago, a coworker and I were up for a promotion. I ended up getting it, though she had been with the company longer. I am her immediate supervisor now and she can't seem to respect that. I can understand her view: 6 weeks ago we were merely peers and she had seniority. But I need to take charge now, upper management is starting to notice and it's making ME look bad that I can't stand up to or keep my employees in line. I went to my supervisor today with all of this and she is going to get written up first thing in the morning. We work in very tight quarters and I'm unsure of how to handle this. Inexpensive recipe needed for group of 10?

Buy a pack of smoked salmon - chop it small. Toss a tub of creme fraiche, juice of a lemon and the salmon into some cooked (good quality not cheapest brand) spaghetti (or better still, linguini). A small amount of fish goes a long way in this recipe but because it's smoked salmon it feel decadent. It's also good to toss in a seasonal fresh veg eg rocket leaves so they wilt, mangetout, baby spinach leaves or fresh peas/asparagus spears. Lots of black pepper will finish this recipe off nicely.
