Why do people wake up with blood in their mouth and swollen lips?

my friend wakes up with blood in her mouth and her lips swell up like jay z's. im getting worried. she says that she also gets hot flashes and she "shakes." shes only 15..shes not some older person with menopause. can you please tell me what you think this could be..i would really appreciate it =]
