Can anyone tell me what the name of the crochet stitch I am doing?

It is in a chain and kind of makes little squares. My friend taught me but I can't figure out how to do the turn around and I don't even know the name of the stitch. Everytime you complete the set of stitches it leaves a little square hole and they all line up on top of each other. I'm trying to do a blanket.
